Police Arrest Herbalist for Alleged Rape, N7.5m Fraud

The Lagos State Police Command on Monday arrested a 45-year-old herbalist identified as Ifatade Ademola for alleged rape and financial fraud of N7.5 million.
The suspect, who also doubles as a cab driver during the day, was arrested after the victim, who claimed she was hypnotised, raped and defrauded of N7.5 million between 2011 and 2014, reported the matter to the police.
The victim alleged that the suspect had used the money he swindled from her to build two bungalow houses in Lagos and Ado Ekiti, as well as bought two vehicles. The cars have been seized by the police.
While addressing newsmen at the state command's headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, the victim claimed the suspect had told her she was being haunted by a spirit husband and needed spiritual cleansing so that she can get married.
She said they started the spiritual cleansing but when he saw that the charm he used was no longer working, he conspired with two other men to rape her in the shrine.
