Liverpool sign Caulker on loan
Liverpool have signed Steven Caulker on loan for the remainder of the season.
The Reds are currently without Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren, while fellow centre-backs Kolo Toure (cramp) and Mamadou Sakho (knee) have also struggled with injury in recent weeks.
While Toure and Sakho are expected to be available for Wednesday’ Premier League tie with Arsenal, manager Jurgen Klopp was keen to bring in another defender as cover and the club asked QPR about the possibility of signing Caulker on loan.
Caulker spent the first half of the season on loan at Southampton, but he made just eight appearances for the club, and QPR elected to cancel the agreement in order to send the 24-year-old to Anfield.
The paperwork was completed in time to allow the centre-back to be eligible for Wednesday’s visit of Arsenal to Anfield
